‘Super Secret Stream’ – Twitch Community Challenge

The ‘Super Secret Stream’ Twitch Community Challenge was met the other day and I wanted to do a full write-up of what exactly that means since it’s kind of a 2 part system that’ll hopefully be a regular part of the stream moving forward.

Part 1 – The Wheel
So we’re bringing back a !Wheel system, but it’s not like what we had before. Instead of locking specific casual playthroughs behind sub milestones, casual playthroughs will now be tied to a set amount and the resulting game will be chosen by the wheel.

What we’re starting with (subject to change) is everytime we reach a threshold of 50 (new subs, gifted subs, 500 bits or $5 donation count as 1), we’ll spin the wheel and then playthrough whatever game it lands on. It doesn’t matter how quickly or slowly we reach that 50 threshold, things will just count up over time. Once a game has been played, it’ll be taken off the wheel and a new one will take it’s place.

The 10 Games currently on the wheel:

  • Tomb Raider (2013)
  • DeadSpace
  • Control
  • Broken Reality
  • Resident Evil
  • Spongebob: BFBB
  • Horizon Zero Dawn
  • Talos Principle
  • Halo: Combat Evolved
  • Bear Party: Adventure

Part 2 – Speedrun Marathon Streams
Because the wheel is being brought back for casual playthroughs and I would still like to incorporate the speedrun marathons that I used to do with the wheel, we’re going to bring them back in a different fashion. Probably every other week for the time being and the list of runs will be something that I put together before hand.

The “Bad News”
Because it took a bit longer to complete the challenge than I initially thought it would, we’re now in a position where we’re about to have Amnesia: Rebirth and DOOM Eternal’s DLC to playthrough and more than likely speedrun, then Ghostrunner comes out the following week so trying to fit another full casual playthrough into the schedule atm is going to be tough if not impossible. So don’t be surprised if it takes until the beginning of November for these streams to kick into effect.

Testing the waters with this idea, but everything could change and I’m open to feedback as always if you see ways to potentially improve upon the system
